After months of deliberation, the shortlist for the prestigious London Planning Awards 2018 has finally been released. Here at Locale, we were thrilled to read that some of our clients have been nominated!

The London Planning Awards have been recognising and rewarding various elements of planning in the capital since 2003, ranging from The Best Place to Work to The Mayor’s Award for Innovation in Planning. The final award of the night, The Mayor’s Award for Planning Excellence, is chosen from the evening’s winners.

Dollar Bay, submitted by Mount Anvil, has been nominated for The Best New Iconic Building or Scheme, as well as The Mayor’s Award for Excellence in Environmental Planning. The first commends those contributing to ‘London’s World City Status’. The second aims to reward developments that demonstrate exemplary standards of developmental planning and sustainability.

Lexicon, the second submission for Mount Anvil, has also been nominated for The Best New Place to Live. This seeks to recognise the creation of desirable housing that is diverse in range, while also providing access to shops, schools and public transport.

St James’s Market has been submitted by The Crown Estate in the category for Best Place to Work, which seeks to recognise developments that are well-designed, energy efficient, encourage environmentally-friendly access but also have good access to a range of facilities and amenities.

The Shard has also been nominated by REM, for The Best Project Five Years On, an award that recognises projects that have “stood the test of time” and created a high-quality environment.

The awards are set to take place at Whitehall Palace, Banqueting House on Thursday January 18th 2018. Congratulations once again to all of the nominees. We wish everyone the very best of luck!
