Locale Lens: Rishi Banerjee

What’s a misconception about your position?

That I curate adverts, spend most of time at breakfasts, lunches and dinners schmoozing people, and write press releases. With a convergence of traditional marketing with communications, I am the protector of the Locale brand, ensuring it’s not only current and impactful, but we are seen and heard at the right time about pertinent issues. My days are varied overseeing content, digital and social media, event curation and video.

What's an accomplishment you're really proud of?

As a part-time vocalist in Indian music, I have had the privilege of performing across the globe and notably at the Royal Albert Hall!

How would you spend 30 minutes of free time?

Singing. It’s my escape from normality and helps me relax and put things to perspective.

Are you an early bird or a night owl?

Late owl, not that I wake up very late either! I often find that I am most productive later at night, especially if I am writing longer form articles or whitepapers. But I do enjoy my time on the sofa watching Netflix too!

What is your motto or personal mantra?

It sounds simple and obvious but “Be kind! You never know the battles others are fighting.” We live in an era where everything is expected to be instant and where via social media we assume that others are constantly living their best lives; when we don’t get our way or become jealous being kind or empathetic often gets forgotten. For me, kindness costs nothing and yet can unlock so much, both personally and professionally.
