Locale creates connected communities to address loneliness

As we approach the festive period, it is imperative that we embody the spirit of coming together and giving back to our communities.

For many, December can be a time to catch up with friends and family and a chance to take a few days off the hamster wheel. However, this period can be the loneliest for those with very few friends or divided families and often spend this special time alone. Locale is all about creating connected communities, which is why we work so hard to rekindle the spirit of togetherness in areas and, especially around the festive period, address loneliness to those it affects.

One way of tackling loneliness is enabling our clients to easily reach out to their occupiers via effective means of communication to bringing them together. Our content streaming service is a simple way to inform both occupiers and visitors of community-building activities in the building and the local area. This can take place all year round and, as we saw in our work with Digbeth in Birmingham, a close-knit yet extensive community can be created for everyone to be part of.

In previous years for the festive period, we have helped buildings create digital advent calendars with offers valid in the local area using our Offers & Promotions module. This is a great way to connect occupiers in a building with the vibrant local businesses surrounding them. Plus, by using our Groups and Announcement modules, you can enable occupiers to notify each other of local carol singing, Christmas sales, fundraising opportunities, theatre productions and more.
