The Challenge

Once a development site, between Westfield Stratford and the Olympic Park, International Quarter London (now known as Stratford Cross), needed to transform into a public realm where employees and people near and far could feel a strong sense of recognition across this strip of land. 

Working with our client, Lendlease, we needed to find interesting ways to engage the public and encourage them to visit in order to feel an ongoing feeling of ownership of the place. 

The Solution

Since 2017, the team worked to engage local and community partners, charities, colleges and community groups at summer screens and local arts organisations for Your Stratford Stage in 2019. To amplify the public realm, we coordinated summer screenings and pop-up spaces, and from 2020, the team provided Health and Safety management at IQL for all activities. 

The Success

We installed Calico, a pop-up bar/cafe/community space, and implemented 60 wellbeing activities and events.

Your Stratford Stage and IQL Live had 43 cultural performance showcases across eight days with an estimated 1,500 people attending.

For the 10 year anniversary of the London 2012 Olympic games, we hosted sporting events that saw 11,000+ tickets booked and users of the community platform doubled.
